Many EU countries require that companies selling chemicals make a so-called product registration with the authorities. However, the requirements vary considerably from country to country. Some countries require product registration for all chemicals sold in the country; others only require registration of certain products dependent on for instance classification or product type.
Different data requirements
To register a product you are required to submit a number of data to the authorities. The data vary from country to country. Some authorities are satisfied with a copy of the safety data sheet, while other authorities require information on 100% product composition.
We can estimate if a chemical should be registered in a particular country. In addition, we offer to register the chemical with the relevant authorities on your behalf. In connection with a product registration we can also assist you in obtaining the necessary data from the manufacturers.
Labelling
Dangerous chemicals must carry a hazard label. Dangerous chemicals include all classified chemicals. Some unclassified chemicals may also require a hazard label dependent on substances and use. The requirements to the contents of the label may vary from country to country. However, a hazard label must always be written in the national language.
We make layouts for labels according to current national regulations. They are not ready-to-use labels but a review of all the danger symbols and phrases required by law for the substance in question. We also offer to verify the quality of your own label layouts to make sure they meet all the current requirements.
All our label layouts are based on our extensive database which covers languages and regulation in more than 40 countries worldwide.
